Fallon County Fair!

We've always loved small town fairs so this past week was packed with fun for us! Wednesday night we went to the Jump for Jesus event. A 71 year old man gave his testimony along with several others then he jumped his dirt bike through a wall of fire. It was really cool! Except that I was so busy taking pictures that I missed the actual jump so the rest of the week I was careful to put my camera down and enjoy it all more :).

Singing before the jump.

Putting the wall up.

We could feel the heat from our seats!

He blasted right through it!
Friday afternoon we headed out to the fairgrounds again.

Listened to the Rock Bottom Boys from Louisiana a little. Very funny redneck singers :).

We all enjoyed watching a guy to some chainsaw sculptures. Amazing how fast and detailed he created them!

We had a blast in the exhibit hall! Lots of people we knew had entered items so that made it even more fun.

Of course, we had to check out the livestock barn too.

Coloring the mural.

All ready to watch watch extreme night - Big ATV and bull riding!

Friends :)

The bull riders came out for the National Anthem then a 4-wheeler jumped over them all.

They did some crazy stuff!

I may have freaked out a few times.

The children just loved it!

Emily and Ethan adored this black sheep:).

Inspecting the goats

Cute miniature pigs!

Ethan poking the big pigs!
Saturday morning the grocery store in town had a free pancake breakfast so of course we attended that. We then hung around and joined a large group of people from church for the parade before going to the fairgrounds again.

Makayla and friends. She may have been annoyed that Emily got on the picture :).

Michael and friends.

Just waiting on the parade to start.

Emily was tired. And hungry. Always hungry!

Lots of horses in this parade!

Miniature horse.

So much candy!

Cleaning up the street because we can't waste candy!

Patiently waiting for more floats.

Firetrucks!
At 1:00 a lot of us attended the PRCA rodeo. It was fun to go with so many friends.

The National Anthem was sung by Darryl Worley!

The clown had monkeys riding dogs and they could herd sheep. It was so cute!
Then there was the carnival to check out as well. We bought the children wristbands for this month's Bible memory prize and they were thrilled!

I thought her and Ethan would just hang out on the little rides but she went with some bigger kids on a wild one and then she was done with small rides!

Poor Ethan was exhausted at this point!

Michael is waving. This was one of Emily's favorites. Freaked me out to see her way up in the air like that!

Berry-go-round.

Makayla and friends

Ethan liked the little train.

Another shot of the swing.

Motorcycle carousel.

After Michael threw up we had him stick to the slide for a while!

The twizzler-another one Emily loved.

The wilder the better!

The gravaton was the most extreme on and Makayla's favorite!
Sunday night we had to go pick up our fair exhibits and stayed for the Demolation Derby. It was the most redneck thing I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot). It was fun though and we all had a blast. We were surprised how many girl's were driving and a 13 year old won the teen derby!

So loud!

The green car was the ultimate winner.

Somehow Mr. Allen got stuck sitting in the row with the kids and got them all riled up. I'm not sure who had more fun-him or them!

This was the first time we ever entered items in the fair and the kids loved. They are already planning things to enter next year. Makayla figured out that if she does 1 every few days she can have 100 items, lol. All 3-5 year olds get blue ribbons but Makayla and Michael did very well too!

Michael's entries

Miss Emily

I think Makayla was the most pleased!

Ethan :)
