Tucker Hollow Park, Arkansas

Since we enjoy reading the reviews that other fulltime families post about the places they visit, I figure it's only fair that we do the same. We have not yet launched but are waiting until the end of the year and hoping our house sells before then. In the meantime, we are taking our travel trailer out as often as possible for long weekends to learn all we can about it.

Last weekend found us at Tucker Hollow Park, near Lead Hill, Arkansas again. We just discovered this campground this summer and it's hands down our favorite in the area. Tucker Hollow is a small 28 site park. All campsites have electric and water hook-ups. There is a playground, group shelter, marina, boat dock, and dumping station. This park sits on the upper part of Bull Shoals Lake which is located on the northern edge of central Arkansas. Built in 1951 for flood control, the lake spans 71,000 acres and extends for 80 miles. It's fed by the White River, which flows through the Arkansas Ozarks. And, it's absolutely gorgeous. Sites are only $20 a night so it's very reasonable as well.

Did I say gorgeous?

The playground is small but our children still love it!

The group shelter right next to the playground.

Huge grill by the group shelter.

I would like to know how many miles he put on his raggedy, hand-me-down bike!

We like how the campsites have space and trees between them!

Every campsite has this set-up.

Dumping station. And, it's only $5 for non-campers!

The look of concentration as you teach your daughter how to make leaf prints.

Happy campers

The Marina

He ended up out in the dirt most of the time because that's where he was happiest! Away from the fire and nothing to pull himself up on because he just falls and bumps his head!

Evening

These people are so dear to us and we will miss them greatly. We loved that they came to be with us Sunday evening.

Sunsets..love them!

Even though rain was in the forecast for the whole weekend, it only rained a little Saturday night. The weather was cool and crisp, perfect for sitting by the campfire. We did some fun projects inside the camper too so hopefully I'll get those pictures taken and put up soon!
